As a lifelong educator and leader, I have extensive working experience and knowledge on several leadership development frameworks and models. Whether a theoretical model, competency-based model, values-based model, or purpose-based model, I have found that there is no one-size fits all leadership framework. Many frameworks include multiple attributes, including skills, competencies and practices, that can enable effective leadership. Therefore, my approach to leadership development goes beyond just one specific framework and addresses leadership in a holistic manner at the individual, team and organizational levels. By focusing on leading oneself, leading others, and leading the organization, a more authentic, effective, and practical guide emerges for bringing leadership to life.
